Cyber Essentials is a government-backed, industry-supported scheme designed to help companies to guard against the most common cyber threats and demonstrate a commitment to cyber security.
Cyber-attacks come in many shapes and sizes, but the vast majority are very basic in nature, carried out by relatively unskilled individuals. They are the digital equivalent of a thief trying your front door to see if it’s unlocked.
Through Cyber Essentials certification, STL are protected against a wide variety of the most common cyber-attacks. This is important because vulnerability to basic attacks can mark an organisation out as target for more in-depth unwanted attention from cyber criminals and others.
Certification gives STL peace of mind that our defences will protect against the most common cyber-attacks simply because these attacks are looking for targets which do not have the Cyber Essentials technical controls in place.
As a result, our customers can be assured that STL’s internal IT specialists are consistently working to secure our IT against cyber-attack and have robust cyber security measures in place.
